Beauty pageant is not just about the beauty, it is also about how well the candidates express themselves especially in the much awaited "Question and Answer" part. They have to convince the judges that they are indeed beauty queens with a brain.
True enough, the back to back win of the Philippines once again proves that we have the best of both worlds the “beauty” and the “brain”
Karen Ibasco was crowned Miss Earth 2017 last November 4, she was able to showcase her wit and beauty during the question and answer portion.
Question:"Who or what do you think is the biggest enemy of Mother Earth and why?"
Answer: “I believe that the real problem in this world is not climate change. The real problem is us because of our ignorance and apathy. What we have to do is to start changing our ways, to start re-calibrating our minds and redirecting our steps because together, as a global community, our micro-efforts will have a macro-effect to help save our home, our planet.”
Karen Ibasco is a medical physicist, and her advocacy is to promote renewable and sustainable energy to protect the environment.

Another Filipino pride is Winwyn Marquez who is the first Filipina to compete and win the title as the Miss Reina Hispanoamericana 2017.
The pageant was held in Bolivia with her exceptional beauty and intelligence, she was able to beat 26 other candidates from different countries.
Question: "How would you promote Hispanic American culture with language barriers?"
Winwyn’s Answer: “Language can be learned but the will and determination to contribute to the organization cannot. It has to come from the heart. It has to be natural. I believe that kindness is a universal language that if you treat people with tolerance, patience and love, you will understand each other.”
“The Hispanic culture is not about language only. It’s about love for God, love for country, love for history and culture and love for family. As a Filipina with a unique heritage, I have instilled that. I am ready to promote the Hispanic culture not just in Asia but in the whole world. It is time to celebrate the Hispanic culture. It is meant to be celebrated.”
She’s the daughter of veteran actress Alma Moreno and comedian Joey Marquez, and also the niece of former Miss International Melanie Marquez.

And just Recently in Miss Globe 2017, Nelda Ibe, bagged the 1st runner-up title, the pageant was held in Tirana, Albania. She’s a licensed pilot and tagged as the “Pilot Queen”
