Gordon Hayward Suffered From A Terrible Leg Injury, His Foot Appeared To Be A 90-Degree Angle

Celtics player Gordon Hayward was severely injured in the Celtics Season opener versus The Cavaliers Tuesday in Cleveland.

The horrible incident shocked the players as well as the court-side fans as Hayward went up for a alley-oop and drew contact with LeBron James  then landed badly below the rim which made his momentum forced his left ankle to snap, and his foot appeared to be a 90-degree angle to his left as he looked on in terror.

Medical team rushed to the floor and put his leg in an air cast before taking him off the court on a stretcher.

The 27-year-old basketball star has dislocated left ankle and fractured tibia according to Celtics coach Brad Stevens as he gave more updates on Hayward’s injury.

Steven told TNT reporters:

"From what I was told it was a dislocated ankle and a fracture, what is it a tibia down there? Whatever the bone is in the leg,"

"So the doctors here have looked at it, our doctors have looked at it, and we'll know a lot more (when) he goes straight to the hospital when he gets home."

Hayward will be taken to the new England Baptist Hospital and scheduled to have a surgery on Wednesday according to ESPN
